Metaverse

Writing that uses aesthetic means to reflect on writing. A third type of writing that contributes to the preservation of its own social system by importing reflexive strategies from art: radical painting, aesthetic deconstructivism, institution-critical art, contextual art.

In his own METAVERSE, Michel Balke explores new dimensions in which writing always serves as a signpost. The book contains 175 drawings, 80 sculptures and 98 scans of paintings on concrete with photographic accompaniment by Jan Schneidereit. The catalogue raisonné comprises 428 pages, weighs 2KG, is numbered, hand-signed and limited to 50 copies.
