Stuttgart's city centre has few spaces that are used for cultural purposes. A hundred metres from the town hall, the Gehlen architectural firm commissioned a large-scale mural for a passageway with high pedestrian traffic.
We developed an abstract motif on a large-format canvas that picks up on the geometric rigour of the surroundings and breaks it up at the same time. Print elements and brushes blur together here in overlapping surfaces that are read differently depending on the point of view and light. No deeper message, no clearly legible subject. The work is intended to be unexpected, challenging and at the same time beautiful.
