Schwabenbräu Passage

The Schwabenbräu-Passage in Stuttgart Bad Cannstatt is undergoing a transformation. The building, where Cannstatt's everyday life once took place, is now being used by cultural workers and social projects - a place between yesterday and „future unclear“. The economic development agency commissioned a design intervention that makes this moment visible.

We developed a playful system - geometric, cubic, in yellow and orange - and let it wander through the entire space: sometimes as a rotating sphere, as a winding rod, as floating fragments on walls, ceilings and staircases. The shapes take up the tile structure of the existing architecture without illustrating it. No programme, no statement - just an impulse.
