Stuttgart networks Feuerbach

Substation buildings are infrastructure - functional, not tied to a specific location, rarely considered in terms of design. Stuttgart Netze's little house in Feuerbach is located directly next to the park of the old cemetery, embedded in old trees. The briefing was open: free work.

We took the location at its word. The flora of the adjacent park - ferns, leaves, botanical forms - meets abstract colour surfaces in stark contrast. Not illustrating nature, but juxtaposing nature and colour. The building does not disappear into its surroundings - it responds to them.
